Murgenstrumm Records Souvenir T-shirt
1968 saw the release of the now-historic album Satanic Mass, conducted by Anton Szandor LaVey. “Recorded LIVE at the Church of Satan,” the red cover declared—bearing a Baphomet in one corner and, in the other, the Egyptian-style emblem of Murgenstrumm.
This shirt pays homage to that strange and atmospheric release—today a highly sought-after collectible in its original pressing. Rather than reproducing the familiar Baphomet imagery, this design takes a more oblique approach: a tribute to Murgenstrumm itself, the enigmatic label behind the album (catalog no. MM6660). It was their only release.
The result is a subtle signal—recognizable to those who know, and nearly indecipherable to those who do not.
Part of the Phantom Peregrination Souvenirs line: commemorations of real but overlooked moments, places, and artifacts that never had official keepsakes. These designs serve as artifacts of absence—tokens of histories that nearly vanished without a trace.
