Originally recorded in 1967 and released in 1968 by Murgenstrumm Records, The Satanic Mass documents an authentic Church of Satan ritual performed in the Black House by Anton LaVey. This 2005 reissue by Adversary Recordings brought the recording back to vinyl for the first time since its original release. recently there have been inferior rereleases.

Pressed on a picture disc and housed with extensive liner notes, this edition includes the original material—LaVey’s live ritual and readings from The Satanic Bible—along with a bonus track: The Hymn of the Satanic Empire, or The Battle Hymn of the Apocalypse, the sheet music for which appears in The Devil’s Notebook.

This is a collector's reissue in a strictly limited edition of 999, with each copy individually numbered. These final copies from a recently recovered stash tucked away in the original label's storage.
