Primitives: Poems and Woodcuts | Max Weber & Benjamin DeCasseres (intro.) | SA1235
Max Weber was one of the first Cubists in America. Mostly known for his painting, he also released two volumes of poetry. This booklet facsimile edition of his second collection features an introduction by Benjamin DeCasseres, who ran as a "Cubist candidate for mayor" in New York City.
Original editions of Primitives: Poems and Woodcuts are very rare, owing to the limited run of 350 copies produced by the Spiral Press. While this booklet edition doesn't feature the fine binding or the original, it makes an extremely rare book available at a fraction of the cost, with some care and consideration as to the materials used.
Edition of 99, heavy kraft card cover with bone linen interior paper, saddle stitched. The first 66 in a kraft envelope which has been hand printed with a reproduction of a Max Weber illustration featured inside the booklet.
